Through joint
efforts of the Reich College of Education and the Office of
Extension and Distance Education we are the Appalachian Transition
to Teaching Program. The ATTP is a $1.6 million dollar US
Department of Education grant awarded to Appalachian State
University to provide resources and assistance to post-baccalaureate
persons working toward teacher licensure in both high-need
academic licensure areas, and who are committed to teaching
in locations designated as high-need (low-wealth) school
districts. Participants may receive up to a maximum of $5,000.00
toward tuition/fees and related expenses for required licensure
courses.
