As of October 6, 2008, the NC State Licensure Department receives approximately 329 calls per day. 

The average time on hold is 7 minutes. They are working hard to reduce your time on hold.

Two important points for those applying for licenses:

1. Be sure you have completed every part of the application before sending it in because it will have to be sent back to you and then sent back in and that will slow the process down.

2. Understand that most licensure requests are made in September followed by August, June, July, and October.  Licensure requests will take longer to process during these times.
